How to Track Supersets, Dropsets, and Advanced Workout Structures

Open Setgraph workout tracker

Multisets in Setgraph for iOS let you group related sets for recording: supersets, dropsets, checkmark sets or a custom sequence. The iOS 26.6.0 release introduced these presets and configurable rest times. This guide explains what each structure means and how to record the work you actually complete. Access can vary by app version and account.

What a Multiset Records

A Multiset groups a sequence of exercise rows into one recording workflow. The saved result still contains individual sets linked as part of that Multiset. You keep the load, reps or duration of each completed row rather than replacing all of them with a single “done” tick. Grouping does not measure training intensity or make the session more effective by itself.

Choose the Right Preset

Superset

Use Superset for exercises performed back-to-back with little rest between them, such as a bench press followed by a row. Setgraph’s preset can group two or more exercises; training terminology often calls a longer sequence a circuit or giant set. Keep your actual exercise order and rest clear.

Dropset

Use Dropset for repeated work on one exercise with decreasing load. An illustrative record is 160 lb × 6, 135 lb × 8, then 115 lb × 10. Enter each stage separately within the group. Those are example values, not recommended loads. They total 24 repetitions and 3,190 lb of volume-load. Their short-rest context differs from three fresh straight sets with longer rests.

Checkmark

Use Checkmark for a sequence whose rows you mark as completed. Fill in the actual values and check only the rows you finish. The recording flow commits checked rows in completion order, so an unchecked planned row should not be treated as completed training.

Custom

Use Custom when the presets do not match the sequence you want. Add the exercise steps and configure the available between-set and after-group rest options. This is flexible organization within the app’s fields, not a claim that every training metric or coaching system is supported.

Create and Record a Group

  1. Open the Add Multiset picker from the Multisets area. Choose Superset, Dropset, Checkmark or Custom.

  2. For a superset, select the exercises in the intended order. For a dropset, select the movement you will repeat. Custom and Checkmark can be arranged in the builder.

  3. Review the saved structure. In the builder, an optional name and the available rest settings help identify how you intend to use it. Save it before training.

  4. Open the Multiset to log it. Enter the reps, weight and any enabled duration for the work you complete; check completed rows when using Checkmark mode.

  5. Review all filled or checked rows before recording. In non-checkmark mode, filled rows are recorded; pre-filled values still need to match what you actually did.

  6. Record the group, then inspect its individual sets in history. Rest timers depend on the group settings and available timer access.

Example: Keep a Superset’s History Honest

Suppose you complete a bench-press set, move to a row, then rest before the next round. Record the bench and row values separately in the same group. If the second round has fewer reps, change those values instead of repeating the target. At the next session, compare the same order and similar rests; grouping a fresh straight set with a fatigued superset does not make them equivalent.

Reuse the Structure, Review the Data

A saved Multiset can be reused, and its exercise relationships remain visible in the recorded group. Editing a template is different from recording a completed round. Keep the structure only as detailed as you need, and change it when the real session differs from the plan. Supersets and dropsets are optional training methods, not a requirement for progress.

For individual set entry, see the swipe-to-record and swipe-to-repeat guide. For timed rows, see duration-based set logging.
